History
We have been providing bereavement services since 1878.
Under Local Government Reorganisation, the formation of BCP Council in 2019 brought together the legacy bereavement services teams from Bournemouth Borough Council, Christchurch, and East Dorset Council (for Christchurch) and Poole Borough Council.
We have since become called BCP Bereavement Care, provided by BCP Council.
We have been providing bereavement services since 1878 and our venues each have a vast amount of important and interesting history attached to them.
Our team are working to collate historical information about each of our locations and we will be adding this to our website over time.
Any information we have already gathered is listed on the individual locations pages or you can ask your local library to guide you.

Our guide to bereavement
We know just how difficult a time it can be when someone close to us dies. The feelings of shock, sadness, loss and bewilderment can take over our lives. It is also a time when there are so many things that need to be done, just when we feel least able to do them.
We have added some information, guidance and support to this website to help you through this difficult time.
